but focused very much on YOU.
Thousands of young people attend school day by day. They speak and listen, meet others, study and learn, create and evaluate, form and transform, move or rest, live in a community. All activities, every single movement that YOU take can be for the betterment of YOUrself, YOUr family, friends, society, nation, after all the world. The 11th ICWiP is devoted to explore how with YOU.
The field is education, the sources are the individual skills, the focus is to associate them with teamwork, the aim is to create an active, creative, tolerant, responsible, cooperative society on international level.

11th International Culture Week in Pécs – ICWiP 2007

With our main long-term project which is the International Culture Week in Pécs (ICWiP), our foundation is committed to offer young people around the age of 18 and 35 a thematic conference and festival year by year. Our participants can count on this event every year at the end of July, and they can prepare for the programme to learn and discuss the most influential issues in their life for the given year.
According to the designation of 2007 to be the European Year of Equal Opportunity for All, and according to the local designation of 2007 to be the Year of Education in Pécs as the second thematic preparatory year of Pécs towards its European Capital of Culture title, the 11th invites young people to examine some dynamic segments of education in which they can develop their individual skills, acquire knowledge and the competence of team-working and tolerance to become more active and to be able to realise projects for the betterment of youth communities thus for the whole society on larger perspectives. Each subtopic aims at up-to-date knowledge to be used for youth activities on local, regional, or international level in the spirit of tolerance and co-operation.
The methodology of the event will include classic conference genres like lectures (open for local inhabitants and published after the event) and workshops (discussions, trainings, actions plans, evaluation), as well as round-table discussions and forums with representatives and experts of the included fields. Among the lecturers, we would like to invite internationally recognised experts whose professional achievements can be personal examples for the youth.
To enhance understanding and openness among the participants form many different countries, the schedule will include trips to the region of Pécs, sporting events, folklore parade and handcrafts, team-games, and open-air festival. We are devoted to give the opportunity for young groups from different countries with artistic performance to show their talent to the participants and the locals in the heart of Pécs to celebrate cultural diversity, thus we plan concerts, folkdances, exhibitions, and open-air theatre. In the spirit of environmentally conscious life, together with the participants, we invite locals to join actions for recycling operated by local and regional institutions and NGOs.
